SE Licensure Bill Information Session and Q&A

SB 310, signed into law by Governor Kemp this summer, created a new Professional Structural Engineer (SE) license. Beginning on January 1, 2021, any construction/permit documents for “Designated Structures" must be signed and sealed by a Professional Structural Engineer. 

Current Georgia PEs have until January 1, 2021 to obtain their SE license via "grandfathering". After this date, any new applicants for an SE license must meet the current requirements for the license, which include passing NCEES' 16-hr PE Structural exam.
