Young Engineer of the Year

The Young Engineer of the Year Award, if presented, is awarded to a practicing structural engineer aged 35 or younger (as of the date of the application deadline) who is recognized by colleagues for his/her outstanding service and commitment to the profession and association, involvement with the mentoring and development of younger members, and technical and ethical competence. 

2024 Young Engineer of the Year 

Stephen Richards, PE, SE

Stephen has over a decade of experience in structural engineering and joined Uzun+Case in 2015. Since then, he has worked on a diverse range of projects and has a reputation for using his technical expertise to deliver creative and cost effective solutions for clients. Within Uzun+Case, he contributes to the technical development of the firm’s standards and is passionate about nurturing the growth of emerging engineers. Stephen is also actively involved in SEAOG, the NCEES Structural Exam Committee, and the ASCE 7-28 Main Committee and Wind Load Subcommittee.
